Founded by Steve O. Hunt, Security Awareness for the 21st Century combines decades of law enforcement expertise with a passion for community safety. After retiring from the Hickory Police Department as the Commander of the Community Services Unit, Steve transitioned into higher education, where he spent 20 years in leadership roles. Today, he leads Security Awareness with the mission of empowering organizations and communities through education, training, and proactive security strategies.

To provide accessible, expert-led security training and consultation services that foster safer communities and workplaces. We believe that security awareness begins with education and ends with prevention.

A certified criminal justice instructor, Steve offers unmatched expertise in security training, risk assessment, and community engagement. His extensive background in public safety, combined with a commitment to continuous learning, allows him to deliver customized security solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
